Intamarque Limited are a global wholesaler & distributor of some of the biggest health, beauty & grocery brands. We partner with some of the biggest Health, Beauty, Household and Grocery brands in the UK and offer a full distribution service in addition to a 360 ̊ brand building journey. 

Due to continuing growth and success of our award winning, Sunday Times Fast Track 100 business, we are seeking a skilled FMCG Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the FMCG market, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to source high-quality products at competitive prices. This role requires strategic thinking, market analysis, and effective supplier management to ensure the availability of goods while optimising costs and maintaining quality standards.

Profile of Job Role:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for FMCG products to meet business objectives and targets.
  • Source and select suppliers/vendors based on quality, cost, reliability, and compliance with company standards.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve the best value for the organization.
  • Analyse market trends, pricing data, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including regular performance reviews, resolving issues, and ensuring adherence to contractual agreements. This can include travelling to trade shows and suppliers in Europe.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as inventory management, sales, and marketing teams, to forecast demand and plan procurement activities accordingly.
  • Monitor inventory levels and product availability to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehousing teams to ensure timely delivery of products and optimize supply chain efficiency.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, new product launches, and regulatory changes affecting FMCG procurement.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, pricing agreements, and supplier performance metrics.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in FMCG procurement or a fast-paced purchasing role.
  • Proven track record of successful negotiations and cost savings in procurement.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be happy to travel for Trade Shows and meetings with suppliers.

  • Flexible working hours Monday to Thursday 
  • Finish early every Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm
